Design-Build

In traditional means of construction there is a designer appointed to handle the design of the project and a separate contractor (sometimes multiple) appointed to handle the construction of the project. With design-build construction a single contractor is appointed for the design and construction work. While sub-contactors may be used for specialized portions of the project, the design-build contractor is the primary contact and is responsible for all of the work. This method often reduces risks, schedule issues, and overall cost to the project owner.
